Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 13, 2026

Swypi LLC ("Swypi", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our mobile application and services.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us:

We automatically collect certain information:

Location information

Some features of Swypi use your device's location. With your permission, we collect precise (GPS-level) location to power map and location-based features, and to let you share your location with friends you choose. If you enable location sharing, Swypi may access your location while the app is running in the background so your shared location can stay current. You can grant, limit (e.g., "While Using the App"), or revoke location access at any time in your device's iOS Settings, and you can turn off location sharing inside the app. If you do not grant location access, location-based features will be unavailable but the rest of Swypi will continue to work.

How we use your information

How we share your information

We may share information about you as follows:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run ads. Swypi has no advertising, no third-party ad SDKs, and no programmatic ad relationships. We do not sell or "share" your data for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under California law.

Third-party services we use

We rely on a small set of trusted service providers ("sub-processors") to operate Swypi. They process information only to provide their service to us:

Your rights and choices

Your privacy rights (EEA/UK and California)

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information.

EEA/UK (GDPR): you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent (for example, location access), you may withdraw it at any time. Our legal bases for processing are performance of our contract with you (to provide the service), your consent, our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the service), and compliance with legal obligations.

California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access to or deletion of your personal information, to correct it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. As stated above, we do not sell or share your personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@swypi.app. We will verify and respond to your request as required by applicable law.

Cookies and similar technologies

The Swypi mobile app does not use advertising cookies. Our website uses only essential local storage (for example, to remember your light/dark theme preference). We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

Children's privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 13, and we require users to confirm they are at least 13 when they sign up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will delete it.

Push notification categories

When you opt in to push notifications, you can enable or disable individual categories in Settings → Notifications:

Removed features and data-deletion notices

When we remove a feature, we delete the data that was specific to it on the same schedule as the feature's removal.

Beacon (removed June 2026). The Beacon feature — a 24-hour status note with an optional AI-tool tag — was removed in June 2026. The three database columns that backed it were dropped at the same time, deleting any Beacon content still set on profiles at the time of removal. No backups are retained.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
