Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
Swypi LLC ("Swypi", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our mobile application and services.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly to us:
- Account information: email address, username, password, date of birth, and profile information (display name, bio, avatar).
- Content: videos, images, posts, comments, livestreams, audio, stories (with reactions, replies, polls, stickers, music selections, and "Add Yours" prompts), and other content you create or share.
- Post configuration: the visibility level you choose per post (Public, Followers, or Private), the Sensitive Content marker and category (Nudity / Violence / Disturbing / Other), comments-disabled flag, and Sealed Post unlock target.
- Communications: direct messages you send to other users (including any photos, videos, or voice notes shared in messages), voice and video calls, and messages you send to us.
- Watch Together: party state (host playback position, chat, reactions sent) when you join or host a Watch Together party.
- Purchase information: in-app purchases of virtual currency ("coins" and "diamonds") and related transaction records. Payments are processed by Apple; we receive transaction confirmations but not your full payment card details.
- Gifts and creator earnings: gifts you send and receive, your on-platform diamond balance, and entries in the creator earnings ledger.
- Creator withdrawals: if you opt in to creator withdrawals, identity-verification, tax, and payout information you provide directly to Stripe Connect. Stripe holds this data; we receive only an opaque account identifier and your onboarding status. We do not see or store your bank account number.
- Shop orders: items added to cart and purchased through the in-app gold-jewelry shop. Shopify is the merchant of record and handles card payments directly.
We automatically collect certain information:
- Usage information: how you interact with our service, including content viewed, watch time, and features used.
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version, and unique device identifiers.
- Log information: access times, actions taken, and IP address.
- Location information: see the dedicated section below.
Location information
Some features of Swypi use your device's location. With your permission, we collect precise (GPS-level) location to power map and location-based features, and to let you share your location with friends you choose. If you enable location sharing, Swypi may access your location while the app is running in the background so your shared location can stay current. You can grant, limit (e.g., "While Using the App"), or revoke location access at any time in your device's iOS Settings, and you can turn off location sharing inside the app. If you do not grant location access, location-based features will be unavailable but the rest of Swypi will continue to work.
How we use your information
- Provide, maintain, and improve our service.
- Deliver content, feeds, livestreams, messaging, calls, and location features you request.
- Process in-app purchases and virtual-currency transactions and send related information.
- Send technical notices, updates, support messages, and push notifications.
- Respond to your comments, questions, and requests.
- Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent security incidents, fraud, and abuse, and enforce our terms and guidelines.
- Personalize and improve your experience.
How we share your information
We may share information about you as follows:
- Public content: content you post as Public is visible to anyone using Swypi. Content posted as Followers is visible only to accounts that follow you. Content posted as Private is visible only to you. These visibility rules are enforced server-side. Direct messages are shared only with the recipients you choose.
- Service providers: with the vendors listed below who process data on our behalf.
- Legal requirements: when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of our service.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run ads. Swypi has no advertising, no third-party ad SDKs, and no programmatic ad relationships. We do not sell or "share" your data for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under California law.

Your privacy rights (EEA/UK and California)
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information.
EEA/UK (GDPR): you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent (for example, location access), you may withdraw it at any time. Our legal bases for processing are performance of our contract with you (to provide the service), your consent, our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the service), and compliance with legal obligations.
California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access to or deletion of your personal information, to correct it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. As stated above, we do not sell or share your personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@swypi.app. We will verify and respond to your request as required by applicable law.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Swypi mobile app does not use advertising cookies. Our website uses only essential local storage (for example, to remember your light/dark theme preference). We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
Children's privacy
Our service is not intended for children under 13, and we require users to confirm they are at least 13 when they sign up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will delete it.
Push notification categories
When you opt in to push notifications, you can enable or disable individual categories in Settings → Notifications:

- Gifts — gifts received on your posts or stories.
- Story Activity — reactions, replies, and "Add Yours" responses to your stories.
- Live Streams — when accounts you follow go live and live stream invitations.
- Sealed Post Unlocks — when your sealed post hits its target, and when posts you helped unlock open.
- Watch Together — invitations and party events.
- System — service updates, policy changes, and account-warning notices.
Removed features and data-deletion notices
When we remove a feature, we delete the data that was specific to it on the same schedule as the feature's removal.
Beacon (removed June 2026). The Beacon feature — a 24-hour status note with an optional AI-tool tag — was removed in June 2026. The three database columns that backed it were dropped at the same time, deleting any Beacon content still set on profiles at the time of removal. No backups are retained.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
